The Cycle of Roots, a composition created with acrylic paint on 49 hexagonal canvases, represents both an independent story and the creation of new meaning when these pieces come together. The relationship between the hexagons symbolizes a universal balance and continuity.

My artistic practice explores the universal balance between nature and humans, as well as the collective memory built through mythological narratives. This work, which addresses the themes of Balance, Cycle, and Transformation, aims to make the recurring nature of cycles visible through mythological figures and organic forms in a universe where humans and nature are inherently intertwined.

The size and shape of each hexagon are deliberate choices. The interconnected structure of the hexagons serves as a metaphor for organic systems that we frequently encounter in nature. In The Cycle Of Roots, this form not only evokes organic systems in nature but also plays the role of a storyteller.

The project consists of seven root family stories. These stories present compositions that reflect the nature of the families and connect with one another. Each story represents a period: brilliance, existence, root, harmony, balance, awakening, transformation.

The composition of the work is based on a structure that guides the viewer towards a flowing visual experience, rather than focusing on a central point. Perceptual discontinuities and overlapping images emphasize that a holistic narrative can be fragmented, while the individual pieces also carry meaning on their own.

The color palette I use reflects the dance of light and energy, while the organic forms and flowing lines symbolize the cyclical nature of life.

This work is inspired by classical mythologies, yet it aims to create a new myth. Mythological codes from different roots intertwine to create a timeless universe in this piece.

This piece offers a view into the ever-evolving story, cycle, and roots of humanity. And in this cycle, it reminds us that we are part of a whole.

After completing my studies in the Painting Department of Hacettepe University Faculty of Fine Arts, I underwent a transformative process in my artistic practice, evolving from portraiture to fantastical worlds. My works are shaped by cultural and mythological themes and are influenced by deep forms of expression such as occultism and symbolism. In my works, I express the relationship between nature, mythology, and humanity through the combination of colors and symbols. As a child, when I imagined communicating with flowers and animals, I was, consciously or unconsciously, creating a world intertwined with the mysterious powers of nature. These experiences have become my deepest source of inspiration in my art. Considering the fragility and imbalance of nature in the modern world, I address the themes of cycle, balance, and transformation in my works.
